Celebrado, hoje, a 8 de junho, o Dia Mundial dos Oceanos lembra-nos a import\u00e2ncia dos mares e oceanos para a vida no planeta. Al\u00e9m de produzirem grande parte do oxig\u00e9nio que respiramos e ajudarem a regular o clima, os oceanos s\u00e3o essenciais para a preserva\u00e7\u00e3o da biodiversidade e para o equil\u00edbrio dos ecossistemas.<\/p>\n

\u26a0\ufe0f Entre os maiores desafios que enfrentam atualmente est\u00e1 a polui\u00e7\u00e3o por res\u00edduos pl\u00e1sticos. Todos os anos, grandes quantidades de pl\u00e1stico acabam nos rios, mares e oceanos, colocando em risco a fauna marinha e degradando habitats naturais. Muitos destes res\u00edduos poderiam ser evitados atrav\u00e9s de uma gest\u00e3o mais eficiente dos materiais ao longo do seu ciclo de vida.<\/p>\n

\u267b\ufe0f \u00c9 neste contexto que a economia circular assume um papel fundamental. Ao promover a reutiliza\u00e7\u00e3o, recupera\u00e7\u00e3o e reciclagem dos materiais, torna-se poss\u00edvel reduzir o desperd\u00edcio, diminuir a depend\u00eancia de mat\u00e9rias-primas virgens e evitar que res\u00edduos potencialmente valoriz\u00e1veis terminem no ambiente.<\/p>\n
