75 years of history, 74 years of association: our connection to Norquifar

Em 2025, celebramos com orgulho os 75 anos da Ruy de Lacerda. Fundada em 1950, a nossa empresa nasceu com uma visão clara: contribuir de forma responsável e inovadora para o desenvolvimento da indústria em Portugal. Apenas um ano depois, em 1951, tornámo-nos associados da Norquifar – Associação Nacional de Importadores, Armazenistas e Retalhistas de Produtos Químicos e Farmacêuticos. Desde então, temos mantido uma ligação ininterrupta a esta associação que tem sido um verdadeiro pilar do setor.
A Norquifar, com raízes no antigo Grémio dos Armazenistas de Drogas e Produtos Químicos e Farmacêuticos dos anos 40, tem desempenhado ao longo das décadas um papel essencial na defesa dos interesses das empresas do setor químico e farmacêutico. A sua atuação estende-se da representação institucional junto de organismos nacionais e europeus, à partilha de conhecimento técnico e legal, à negociação de convenções coletivas de trabalho e à promoção da cooperação entre empresas.
Entre as mais-valias da associação, destacamos o acompanhamento constante da legislação nacional e europeia – com especial atenção a regulamentos como REACH e CLP –, a organização de formações relevantes e atualizadas para os profissionais do setor, e a criação de pontes entre os associados e entidades como a Agência Portuguesa do Ambiente (APA), a Direção-Geral das Atividades Económicas (DGAE), a Direção-Geral de Alimentação e Veterinária (DGAV) e a Agência Europeia de Produtos Químicos (ECHA).
A representatividade e a força da Norquifar também se refletem na qualidade e diversidade das empresas que a integram. Entre os seus associados e membros dos órgãos sociais encontram-se empresas de referência portuguesas. Esta diversidade fortalece o conhecimento partilhado e garante que diferentes perspetivas e segmentos do setor estão representados e valorizados.
Estar ligado à Norquifar é, para nós, estar mais preparados, mais informados e mais representados. É ter acesso a um espaço onde as empresas podem unir esforços e vozes, partilhar preocupações e construir soluções conjuntas. 75 years of history, 74 years of association: our connection with Norquifar
In 2025, we proudly celebrate the 75th anniversary of Ruy de Lacerda. Founded in 1950, our company was born with a clear vision: to contribute responsibly and innovatively to the development of industry in Portugal. Just one year later, in 1951, we became members of Norquifar – the National Association of Importers, Wholesalers and Retailers of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Products. Since then, we have maintained an uninterrupted connection with this association, which has been a true pillar of the sector.
Norquifar, with roots in the former Guild of Drug and Chemical and Pharmaceutical Products Wholesalers from the 1940s, has played a key role over the decades in defending the interests of companies in the chemical and pharmaceutical sectors. Its activities range from institutional representation before national and European bodies, to sharing technical and legal knowledge, negotiating collective labor agreements, and promoting cooperation between companies.
Among the many benefits of the association, we highlight the constant monitoring of national and European legislation – with particular attention to regulations such as REACH and CLP – the organization of relevant and up-to-date training for professionals in the sector, and the creation of bridges between members and entities such as the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA), the Directorate-General for Economic Activities (DGAE), the Directorate-General for Food and Veterinary (DGAV), and the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
Norquifar’s representativeness and strength are also reflected in the quality and diversity of the companies that are part of it. Among its members and board representatives are leading Portuguese companies. This diversity strengthens the collective knowledge and ensures that different perspectives and segments of the industry are represented and valued.
Being connected to Norquifar means being better prepared, better informed, and better represented. It means having access to a space where companies can join efforts and voices, share concerns, and build solutions together. As we celebrate our 75th anniversary, we reaffirm the importance we place on association as a foundation for a stronger and more cohesive industry. The story of Ruy de Lacerda is also built with the right partners – and Norquifar is, without a doubt, one of them.
