  1. Can you tell us a bit about your professional background? What motivated you to choose this sector and career?

When I started my training as an industrial mechanic as a youngster, I never dreamed that I would one day be the managing director of a company. The experience I gained during this very successful apprenticeship formed the basis for my professional future. I was lucky to find a professional field right at the beginning of my professional life that inspired me right from the start.

At the beginning of my professional life, i didn’t think about big challenges. i didn’t know what lay ahead of me. I just set off

There were many moments when you look up and think, nice to have achieved that. But the day I received my diploma and when I was appointed to the Management Board have left the most beautiful memories

 

  1. How has your experience been balancing the technical and human aspects throughout your career?

A company of our size can only be managed if most of the employees are willing to participate in the team and are enthusiastic about it.

Everyone is different. You need a lot of sensitivity to keep motivation high To lead teams in complex settings, it’s essential to have quick comprehension, a strong technical background, a feel for the situation, and the ability to build networks.

  1. Resilience, adaptability and observation are fundamental elements for success. What practical advice would you give to companies seeking to improve efficiency, reduce costs, or increase return on investment?

This depends on the business of the company. What applies to all areas, cheap solutions usually bring little profit

We build machines. Their components are all manufactured in-house. For example, we use lasers with the highest standard, the best cutting results and the best availability. This is not possible with “cheap” equipment.

Constant investment in all areas is necessary to stay one step ahead

 

  1. Your company has a global presence. What is the importance of Portugal in your current strategy?

The current global situation in particular is shifting the focus to Europe. Portugal has great potential as a production location. Production machinery is needed for this.

Whenever quality products are required, we have a good chance with our machines

 

  1. How do you evaluate your partnership with Ruy de Lacerda?

It is an open and cooperative relationship. Rue de Lacerda is always trying to find customers for our machines. We would like to focus more on automation and to place a project in this direction in Portugal. 

 

  1. The market has high expectations for your company. What can we expect from you in terms of technology, innovation and new products?

The products we manufacture are of the highest technical standard. When unusual requests come from your potential customers, we will take them seriously and look for a solution. If our support is needed, we are happy to provide it.

We are constantly developing new ideas and concepts to make the manufacturing process of thermoforming more efficient. We have hired additional engineers especially for this purpose.

 

  1. What are the main challenges and trends you foresee for the sector in the coming years?

Automation will be unavoidable as there is less and less skilled labour available. I consider the development of lightweight components and their production to be extremely important, especially with regard to lower energy consumption.

Automation solutions are already available and are being systematically expanded. AI algorithms should help us to achieve good products faster.

Strategic investments go into the implementation of AI in the thermoforming process. This will consume a lot of manpower and money.

 

  1. Finally, what message would you like to leave for the clients, partners and collaborators who follow your company’s work?

We are a strong family business even though we are a public limited company. The success of our customers is important and essential to us. This can only be achieved by our sales partners, our customers and ourselves working together.
